The SMC does not issue SMC0107 or SMC0110. On JES3 systems, the SMC does not influence the swap-to device selection. Enhanced swap processing is the only mode supported in SMC. If the SMC cannot find a compatible swap-to device, or if all compatible devices are busy, the SMC issues a message and control is returned to DDR processing with no further SMC involvement. This eliminates the need for operators to find a compatible ”swap-to” device when DDR has chosen an incompatible device. If that is the case, it makes sense that the file type associations don't work either.The SMC automates the swap process (I/O error or operator initiated) in the same manner as HSC enhanced swap processing. My guess is that they use a \\tsclient\drive When we double-click on a file from the client, the application opens, but then we receive an error that the file can't be opened.
Our file type associations also have a problem when they try to open the file.

I suspect the two problems (not being able to access \\tsclient drives in RemoteApps, and not being able to open files via file-type-associations in RemoteApps) is related to SSO. They all have the same problems, on any machine, when using \\tsclient\ drives in Remote Apps, and receive the same error when trying to open files that have a file associated with a RemoteApp. Using RemoteApps works fine for the 20-or-so test users. (Reason - RemoteApp and Desktop connection does not exist). In the Applications and Service Logs \ Microsoft \ Windows \ RemoteApp and Desktop Connections \ Operatoinal event log, I receive event 1041 - Remote Application (Excel) is luanched on RemoteApp and Desktop Connection (RemoteApp Host Name) but no storedĬredentials are used for single sign on. The problems only occur when using applications as RemoteApps. However, if I RDP directly to the host, I am able to access the \\tsclient\ drives from the applications.
